Wool coats, padded jackets and knitwear from the Prato district, chosen with you on a live video call and shipped to your store in a single delivery, with one invoice for every supplier.
Buying Italian from Canada
Italian fashion is harder to find in Canada than in Europe, and much of what is on offer is cut for milder European winters. Buying through US wholesalers adds another border and another set of duties.
Prato has the coats and knitwear your customers need, but sorting through hundreds of warehouses from Toronto or Calgary, in Italian, with a separate payment each time, is a job in itself.
We search the district for the weights and fabrics a Canadian winter calls for, and you choose the pieces.
Built for the cold
We look for the fabrics and constructions that hold up from November to March: dense wool and wool-cashmere coats, padded jackets with a fill you can check, and knitwear in alpaca, merino and cashmere blends that layers under outerwear.
The warehouses we choose depend on your brief, from your customer and price points to the sizes you sell most. Every coat and knit is checked for fabric and finish before it is boxed.
From Prato to your floor
What we buy for Canadian stores is mostly Italian-made womenswear. Outerwear and knitwear lead from late summer onwards; in spring and summer the focus moves to linen, dresses and lighter layers.

Buying from Canada
From Canada
Toronto and Montreal are six hours behind Italy, Halifax five and Vancouver nine. Showrooms permitting, sessions go on until 8 or 9pm in Prato, so even buyers in British Columbia can shop before lunch.
In Italy
Fly to Rome or Milan, or connect to Florence, and spend a day in the Prato showrooms with our buyer driving you from one supplier to the next.
Importing into Canada
Orders travel DAP. The courier clears them through the CBSA and bills you for duty, taxes and its brokerage fee before delivery.
The EU and Canada have a trade agreement, CETA. It can lower the duty on clothing that satisfies its rules of origin when it enters Canada.
GST is collected at the border, and in HST provinces the courier collects the full HST. If you are registered, you can normally claim it back as an input tax credit.
UPS, DHL or FedEx handle the customs entry with the export invoice and documents we prepare in Prato.
Fibre content and care labels are already on the garments. We attach your own woven label or swing ticket with your shop name in Prato. Labels and packaging.

Shipping to Canada
The highlighted points are Canadian cities our orders reached this year, from Halifax to Vancouver. Parcels are collected by UPS, DHL or FedEx when the freight quote is paid.
Shipping is quoted on the packed boxes, by their actual weight and size.
Canadian questions
Not automatically. CETA can cut the duty on clothing that complies with its conditions, and anything else pays the regular Canadian rate. The courier calculates it at the border.
GST everywhere, and the full HST if your store is in an HST province. In provinces with a separate PST, that is handled under provincial rules. Registered businesses usually recover GST and HST as input tax credits.
Composition and care labels are on the garments. Canadian rules want fibre content in English and French and the name or CA number of a Canadian dealer; the French text is normally on the label already. Whether the supplier also adds your importer details depends on the supplier, and we find out before you order.
Yes. We filter for heavier wools, wool-cashmere blends and padded jackets, and we read the fill and composition labels with you on the session.
Morning in Prato is the middle of the night in Toronto, so for Ontario the Italian afternoon works best, falling in your morning. An evening session in Prato is late morning in Vancouver.
Send us photos no later than 5 working days after the parcel arrives. We raise it with the supplier and follow it until you get a refund, a credit or a replacement.
Before next winter
Book a short interview to talk through your store and the pieces that sell in Canada. If we are a fit, your first session is built around them.
