Category: Trend Report

The Trend Report section translates what we see in the Prato wholesale market into commercially actionable intelligence for boutique buyers.

These are not fashion forecasts. We don’t predict what will be fashionable, we document what is selling: which categories are generating strong full-price sell-through in independent boutiques this season, which fabric and silhouette directions are showing up across the best-performing Prato suppliers, and which product characteristics separate the styles that move at full price from the ones that end up on promotion.

Each Trend Report is grounded in what we are actually seeing on the showroom floor: linen coordinate performance, viscose print quality signals, occasionwear margin patterns, jersey category positioning. We write with the buyer’s order sheet in mind, not the editor’s mood board.

The section is updated with the rhythm of the Prato market: spring-summer intelligence runs from January through April, autumn-winter from July through October. Buyers who read this section alongside the Sourcing Strategy content will have a more complete picture of what to buy and why.

Knitwear in September: What Is Still Available and What Is Already Gone

Knitwear is the category planned earliest in the season, which is why mid-September looks fuller than it is. Collections are still on the rails, but the most requested references start closing in the central sizes, and the pieces made with finer yarns disappear first because they were produced in limited quantities. This article looks only at timing: what a buyer can still obtain now, what has effectively gone, and how to split a remaining budget between base product, identity pieces and a reserve for replenishment that no supplier in a pronto moda district can guarantee.

AW26/27 Collections Land in Prato: Whatโ€™s Actually on the Rails in September

Early September is the moment the autumn winter offer reaches the Prato warehouses, but it does not reach them all at once. Knitwear, jersey, heavy viscose and transitional garments are already present in depth, while structured outerwear arrives in staggered waves and some references complete only later. This report describes the real availability dynamic in the district, the buying behaviour it calls for, and why a model that works can sell out without being remade.

AW26/27 Colour Directions for Luxury Knitwear: Jewel Tones and Undyed Naturals

Colour is the first purchase trigger in knitwear retail, and the AW26/27 season in Prato showrooms divides it cleanly by fibre: saturated jewel tones on kid mohair, undyed naturals on baby alpaca, and a permanent neutral spine on cashmere blend basics. This article maps the season’s palette to each fibre’s strengths, explains the festive metallic and deep-red accents arriving mid-season, and shows how to compose a knitwear colour wall customers read at a glance.

Baby Alpaca Coatigans and Long Cardigans: Sourcing Warmth Without Weight in Italy

New winter womenswear, filmed inside one of our Pr New winter womenswear, filmed inside one of our Prato showrooms this week.

Silky viscose sets that you can take apart and rebuild: the shirt with wide trousers, the same shirt with a skirt, or the identical fabric made up as a dress. Pleated bombers with a matching pleated skirt. Belted dresses that run from powder pink to deep burgundy.

Everything is mix and matchable, comes in three sizes, and every piece can be bought on its own. So you build the assortment your customers actually buy, not the one the supplier decided for you.

This is one rack out of an entire district. What you see here is what is in stock right now, and at this point in the season it moves quickly.

Send us a message on WhatsApp, link in bio. Tell us what kind of store you run and where you sell, and we will explain how a sourcing session works and what we can realistically find for you.
